Terms of Service

The agreement for using Tasseikan, written to be as plain as legal terms can be. The subscription section matters most if you're thinking about Premium.

01The agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Kodetive LLC ("Kodetive," "we," "us") for using the Tasseikan app and tasseikan.com (together, "Tasseikan"). By using Tasseikan, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Tasseikan.

If you downloaded Tasseikan from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. If it conflicts with these terms, these terms win, except where Apple requires otherwise.

02Who can use Tasseikan

You need to be at least 13 years old. If you're under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, a parent or guardian needs to agree to these terms for you.

03Your account

  • Keep your sign-in secure. You're responsible for what happens in your account.
  • Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • Tell us at support@tasseikan.com if you think someone else is using your account.

04What Tasseikan does, and doesn't do

Tasseikan helps you build better habits by pausing apps you choose until you finish a task, or until the time window you set ends. It's a focus tool, not a parental control or a guarantee.

  • Pausing depends on Apple's Screen Time features. Apple decides how those work, and some apps, system features or settings may not pause the way you expect.
  • Emergency unlock is always available on every plan. Tasseikan never stops you from calling for help, and you should never rely on it in a way that could keep you from something you need.
  • Tasseikan isn't medical, mental health, fitness or professional advice. Talk to a qualified professional before starting a new exercise, diet or health routine, and stop any task that feels unsafe.

05Premium and payments

  • Tasseikan is free to use, with an optional Premium plan billed monthly or yearly, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Prices are shown in the app before you buy.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Your Apple account is charged within 24 hours before the renewal.
  • Free trials turn into a paid subscription when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before. Any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Manage or cancel any time in the iPhone Settings app: tap your name → Subscriptions → Tasseikan. Deleting the app doesn't cancel a subscription.
  • Apple processes all payments. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. You can ask for one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • If we change a subscription price, Apple will tell you in advance, and you can cancel before the new price applies.

06Your content

Your goals, tasks, reflections and photos belong to you. You give us a limited permission to store and process them only to run Tasseikan for you, including sending goal text for AI planning when you ask for it. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

Only upload photos you have the right to share, and don't include other people in task photos without their permission.

07Using Tasseikan fairly

Please don't:

  • break the law, or use Tasseikan to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
  • upload content that's illegal, sexual, violent or that you don't have rights to;
  • try to hack, reverse engineer, overload or get around Tasseikan's security or paid features;
  • use bots or automated tools to create accounts, join the waitlist or access the service;
  • pretend to be someone else, or misuse the accountability partner feature.

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

08Our rights

Tasseikan, including its design, code, name, the seal logo and all brand assets, belongs to Kodetive LLC and is protected by law. We give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app for your own use. You can't copy, sell or reuse Tasseikan or its branding without our written permission.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we can use them without owing you anything.

09AI features

AI goal breakdown creates suggestions automatically. They may be incomplete or wrong, and they aren't professional advice. Use your own judgment before following a plan, especially for anything involving health, money or safety.

10Ending your use

You can stop using Tasseikan and delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms or if we have to for legal reasons. If we ever shut Tasseikan down, we'll give reasonable notice when we can.

11Disclaimers

Tasseikan is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent the law allows, Kodetive makes no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that Tasseikan will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that it will help you reach any particular goal. Some places don't allow these disclaimers, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

12Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Kodetive won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, missed messages, lost profits or goals not reached, that come from using or not being able to use Tasseikan.

Our total liability for any claim about Tasseikan is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law.

13Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law while using Tasseikan, and that leads to a claim against Kodetive, you agree to cover the reasonable costs of that claim, including legal fees.

14Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in Salt Lake County, Utah, and you and Kodetive agree to those courts. If you live in a country where consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim locally, these terms don't take that right away.

15Apple

These terms are between you and Kodetive, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Tasseikan or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and isn't responsible for any claims about it. If Tasseikan fails to meet a warranty, you can tell Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.

16The rest

  • If part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
  • If we don't enforce part of these terms right away, we haven't given up the right to.
  • You can't transfer these terms to someone else. We can transfer them as part of a merger or sale of Kodetive.
  • We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top, and if a change is significant, we'll let you know in the app or by email before it applies. Using Tasseikan after that means you accept the new terms.
